3rd November 2010 - Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment (PAWSA) & Hazard Identification (HAZID) Workshop

KASI successfully conducted a Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment (PAWSA) & Hazard Identification (HAZID) Workshop on 3 November 2010 held at KASI's headquarters, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

The aims of the workshop were as follows:-

  • To allow the views of stakeholders to be accounted for in the planning and design of a proposed marine development;
  • To identify the key hazards of marine risk associated with the project, and their causes;
  • To identify risk levels for these hazards;
  • To recommend measures to mitigate unacceptable risk levels, if any.

The workshop was attended by eleven (11) participants representing waterway users, regulatory authorities and stakeholders (i.e., organisations with an interest in the safe and efficient use of a waterway / marine facility). The workshop was facilitated by Benjamin Nair and assisted by Renu Joseph.
